Cozy Simulation / Breeding Economy
Based in Germany, female-led, 5 people
Fish breeding · Shop economy · Modular 2.5D builder · 50+ species

The Fish Corner looks like a relaxing aquarium game but underneath lives a fully-fledged breeding economy and shop management simulation that rewards hundreds of hours of play. Players run a cozy fish shop, breeding rare species through a genetics system, managing supply chains, setting prices, and expanding their shop over time.
Play at your own pace: turn your aquarium into a living screensaver and simply enjoy watching your fish thrive, or dive deep into a layered simulation filled with care systems, strategic breeding, and business decisions.
Your choices shape the market. A dynamic economy reacts to supply, demand, and the impact your shop has on the world, forcing you to adapt prices, discover opportunities, and build your reputation.
Meet a diverse cast of returning customers, each with their own personalities, stories, and reasons for visiting your little corner of the fishkeeping world.
Breed smarter, not faster. Carefully pair fish to improve genetics, unlock valuable species, increase your reputation, and grow your income through skillful breeding.
Build your dream aquarium with a unique 2.5D modular tank system, combining handcrafted 2D art, layered environments, and detailed animations to create the feeling of a living, breathing underwater world.
"As the market fills with idle loops and passive timers, The Fish Corner is a deliberate counter-argument: a cozy game that rewards attention, grows with the player, and has real decisions at its core."
Replayability comes from player-set focus: one run chases a perfect rare breeding line, the next maximises profit, the next builds the most beautiful shop possible. There is no "right" way to play. The Fish Corner is not an idle game. It is a cozy game with quality underneath. One that respects the player's time by giving them something real to think about and come back to.

Breed fish across generations to unlock better grades. The genetics system rewards patience and curiosity, no two breeding runs play out the same way.
Set prices, manage stock, expand your shop layout, and respond to customer demand. The economy has real depth: scarcity, trends, and reputation all affect what sells and for how much.
Every tank is built layer by layer in 2D, combined, they look like a window into a living aquarium. Place decorations, plants, rocks, decorations and tech to create your dream setup.
Collect, breed, and sell a diverse range of species. Completionists have an endgame. Traders have a market. Everyone has a favourite.
Maximise profit, complete the collection, build the most beautiful shop, or focus on a single rare species. The game supports multiple valid play styles simultaneously.
No two runs feel identical. Different starting species, economy states, and self-imposed challenges keep the experience fresh across tens of hours.
What started as a small post in an aquaristics subreddit turned into thousands of upvotes, comments, and wishlist spikes within 24 hours. Alongside cozy gamers, experienced aquarists began sharing detailed feedback: which species they wanted to see, how breeding systems should work, and even real-world tank knowledge. That early response shaped the game directly. It became a collaboration between players, hobbyists, and developers from day one.
The Fish Corner is built entirely in 2D, but it doesn’t feel like it. Through a custom modular layering system, every tank is constructed piece by piece: background, midgrounds, plants, fish, and lighting. The result is a convincing sense of depth, like looking through real glass into a living aquarium. Getting this right took months of iteration. The goal was believability. Players can now design spaces that feel alive.
At first glance, The Fish Corner is exactly what it appears to be: a calm, cozy aquarium experience. Leave it running like a living screensaver and enjoy watching your fish. But beneath the surface is a surprisingly deep simulation. Every species you breed, every price you set, and every decision you make influences a dynamic economy shaped by supply, demand, and your own impact on the market. As your business expands, so does the world around it. Returning customers visit your shop, each bringing their own personality, stories, and connection to your little corner of the aquarium community. Whether you want a relaxing digital fish tank or a deep management simulation to master, the choice is yours.
Players can finally dive into the first public release of our cozy aquarium shop simulator. Build your tank, discover unique fish, meet your first customers, and experience the beginning of a much deeper world growing beneath the surface.
After the unexpected success of its debut title Medieval Legacy, Ninetoplay is proving that its first hit was only the beginning. What started as a one-woman project, self-funding, designing, and bringing an ambitious simulation game to life, has grown into a female-led business creating deep, system-driven worlds. Now, with support from the state of Baden-Württemberg, the studio is preparing its second release: another deceptively cozy experience hiding a complex economy simulation beneath the surface. From medieval kingdoms to living aquariums, Ninetoplay is building its identity around games that reward multiple playstyles and keep players interested for a long time.
